 Dear friends and family,

What a good day! We have so many treasures from the Lord that they are without number. If your life is so busy that you aren't seening them, get still and ask Abba for open eyes. You will see! Yesterday, we had the priveledge of sharing a meal with friends. It has been over 5 years since we've seen each other and so as the day drew closer I anticipated with joy the reunion. Having brothers and sisters in Christ makes our walk sweeter doesn't it?

Today, before saying goodbye, we got to pray with each other. Oh, my heart is so glad for fellowship in the Lord! So, it is in reading the next part of 1 John 2:7-11 we get to see how to love one another. There are so many passages concerning love and how to do it well. This is just one more. "Beloved, I am not writing a new commandment to you, but an old commandment which you have had from the beginning; the old commandment is the word which you have heard." Passed down through the ages we have witnessed the mighty love of God for us. When we met Christ as our personal savior, we became like a love letter written, not in ink but with the Spirit of the living God. Read about this in 2 Corinthians 3.

Verse 8..."On the other hand, I am writing a new commandment to you, which is true in Him and in you, because the darkness is passing away, and the true light is already shining." This is comparing the moral blindness we had when in darkness, to the shining revelation of God in Christ Jesus. Such a difference!

Now, verse 9..."The one who says he is in the light and yet hates his brother is in the darkness until now." Lord help me remember that nothing is hidden from You. I bring my heart into the Light of Your everlasting love and ask that you reveal my unloving attitudes with my brothers and sisters in Christ. Help me to really be an open letter before others.

Verse 10..."The one who loves his brother abides in the light and there is no cause for stumbling in Him." There is nothing to cast a shadow of doubt about our witness when we abide in the Lord of Light and truth.

So, verse 11 says, "But the one who hates his brother is in the darkness and walks in the darkness, and does not know where he is going because the darkness has blinded his eyes." I don't know about you but, where I have engaged in relationships and walk in the dark places of compromise, then, I just have trouble maintaining an easy relationship. It does not matter how long I have been a christian, where I go to church or if I have ever witnessed the power of God through salvation. If I am even entertaining thoughts that think the worst of a brother or sister, this if I understand correctly, is no different than hatred. Wow! That is an eye opener!

When you have been outside in the sunshine and walk into a closed room it takes time for your eyes to adjust doesn't it? I don't like that feeling of not seeing well. So yes, I do prefer the natural light of outside! I am grateful for the vision I have. Same goes for my spirit. I long for the Light! Okay, I can agree Lord, this Love for each other is very important to Your own heart. Make it important to mine too. Renew, refresh, restore my mind and vision. Use me to be an easily read Love letter that witnesses of Your Love for others. In the powerful, majestic name of Jesus. Amen.

I will be praying for you today. God bless you and keep you and pour His grace upon you. Love in Christ, Patricia.

Abundance is...being a living Love letter
