 Dear brothers and sisters,

Good day to you and God bless in the matchless name of Jesus Christ.

How do you express the Love of God to others? Even if today you are all alone, how will you express your thanks for His great Love?

For some reason writing hasn't come easy for me today. That is why I am going to share some good words from others out of my old book of songs. I hope you are as blessed as I am.

Psalm 119:48 says, "My hands also I will lift up to Your commandments, which I love, and I will meditate on Your statutes."

Here we are, where ever we are. Have you had a desire to just lift your hands up high when you read God's Word? We express our worship in church with lifted hands. Why not when we are alone? It is very freeing and part of our worship. God notices and loves your surrendered heart.

When you think of where you came from, living in darkness away from the Light of Jesus, are you ready to sing this song? "Love Lifted Me" was written in 1912 by James Rowe. Here are the words of the first verse.

"I was sinking deep in sin, far from the peaceful shore, very deeply stained within, sinking to rise no more. But the Master of the sea heard my despairing cry, from the waters lifted me now safe am I. Love lifted me! Love lifted me! When nothing else could help Love lifted me; Love lifted me! Love lifted me! When nothing else could help...Love Lifted Me!!"

It is God's Love that lifts us out of darkness. The gift of eternal life is through Jesus His Son, the perfect Lamb of God. Only believe.

By taking even a few minutes everyday our minds will be transformed and brought into wholeness as we sit at the feet of Jesus. It becomes a lifestyle!

By giving thanks from the heart, we find there is more and more light brightening our steps. A Light that won't be quenched by fear or doubt. A Light that draws others to Jesus.

Do I believe God loves me? Without a doubt! Do I believe the behind the brightest day, the stars still shine? Yes! Do I trust that the sun will rise after a long night? I do! How about you? Like this, God's Love is simple to trust. If only you will today.

I came across a poem that made me stop and think. Really another song..."The Love of God" by F. M. Lehman in 1917. He had been thinking about the limitless Love of God, and during breaks he sat on an empty lemon crate and jotted down words with a stubby pencil.

I like that picture because it reminds me that even while sitting on a crate with a small piece of paper and a short pencil, I too can express God's Love. He wrote, "God's Love is far greater than any tongue or pen tell. It goes beyond the highest star and reaches to the lowest hell..."

Now the poem says, and this is what got me to pause...

"Could we with ink the ocean fill and were the skies of parchment made, Were every stalk on earth a quill, and every man a scribe by trade, To write the love of God above would drain the ocean dry, Nor could the scroll contain the whole though stretched from sky to sky."

Are you ready for this kind of Love? The Spirit of the Lord brought people like these two gifted men, through some amazing times where they learned just how much God Loves us!

I will leave you then with this from Psalm 106:1..."Praise the Lord! Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever."Amen

Abundance is...filling my mouth with songs of His Love

 Dear brothers and sisters,

Welcome to another Heartstrings moment where I get to share my journey with you. I do pray that you are able to glean what the Spirit is speaking to your own heart and apply the Word of Truth to every step.

As I mentioned last time we met, I am going to take a path of renewal and find out about the Love of God in a deeper way. To really believe, regardless of my circumstances, that His Love alone is my desire and pursuit.

Above all others. Can you say that? Is that what you want? The world is in a dangerous, apathetic, immoral state without God. When someone discovers how much they are loved I think they will only want more! A good thing.

How will they know unless someone show them? It is found in the Word of God, spoken in faith by us, His followers. Read this in Romans chapter 10. In 2 Timothy 4:2-3 we are called to have a sense of urgency. Stand by and be ready to convince them; urging and encourageing them.

"For the time is coming when [people] will not tolerate sound and wholesome instruction, but, having ears itching [for something pleasing and gratifying], they will gather to themselves one teacher after another to a considerable number, chosen to satisfy their own liking and to foster the errors they hold."

The list goes on and on. What I want to do tonight is bring my focus back to the source of my faith and grow from there. I want, need, to believe God loves me from personal experience and not rely on others words or lifestyle to be the convincer. Will we allow the world to set a warped standard or will we humble ourselves before the Only True God?

I'm asking myself...is there anyone I love or desire more than God, His Son, or His Spirit? Do I love the present world more than I love the eternal things that belong to God? Where do I set my affections? Romans 12:2. On the temporal or the eternal?

It is by faith in God. Read Colosians 3:2 and 2 Corinthians 4:18. Please don't overlook this. Take your Bible in hand and turn those pages! There is no better place to really know what God thinks about you, His treasure, than in the Word of God.

Deuteronomy 6:5 says, "And you shall love the Lord your God with all your [mind and] heart and with your entire being and with all your might."

Is anything or anyone taking the place that God desires to make you a part of? How many times when I was younger did I pursue someone to love me? Always looking for just the right time and place to find gratification. All because I didn't know my worth. Countless.

When I was thinking about this today, I realized the waste of my life in those pursuits. Even recently when I thought my value came from gaining respect from others of my family. Instead of being the person I was called by God to be, I was trying to be in control of what others thought about me. I somehow believed I needed their assurances. I should have gone to God first. To trust His thoughts toward me...Psalm 139.

With the Lord I have never been disappointed! I have always, when I take the time to be still in His presence, known I am His precious treasure. Why look elsewhere?

No more If Onlys. No more I should've. No more regret when I come to the feet of Jesus and repent for my sins and blind eye to what He wants to show me everyday. Thank you Holy Spirit for leading me to this place today.

For contentment, a life changing and transformed mind, come to the Father right now. Cast all your cares on Him. Then from the time you get up and take that first look in the mirror thank God for loving you. Never let your appearance be a weapon of the enemy to play games with, but allow your appearance to be one of worship. You will never look better than when you truly believe God loves you!

Pursue this love of God and you will find all the love your heart yearns for. Let God's Words be first in your own minds and hearts. Then, you will be able to witness God's love to your children. Your family will want what you have! Spread the Good News of the Gospel. Keep it alive and fresh in your own heart from the time you get up in the morning into the night. Put on a garment of praise!

God bless you and keep you so that you may do what is pleasing to the Lord First and always. He is with you as you serve Him. Reverently worship the One Who Made You and Loves You Completely. In the matchless name of Jesus, amen.

Abundance is...seeking you will find

 Dear family and friends,

We welcome you to a new month and invite you to follow this journey from my Heartstrings to yours.

Since this month is noted for acts of love, we are going to find out what true love looks like. Question...do you act like you are loved by God? I really wonder sometimes, in my case, what others are seeing, hearing that would point to God's love. Do they see calm delight in my face? Do they hear devotion in the tone of my voice?

I think it begins with Belief. You've noticed couples that seem in love. You might have been blessed to see it in your own family. Parents who seem to treasure each other and children embraced in that love. Do you believe you are loved?

If you have made Jesus your Lord and Savior then, your faith has blossomed into something beautiful. We need to put the full force of our minds behind our faith. Others will see His love through us and our love for Him. To believe is a confident, courageous person.

This morning I woke with such sorrow pressing upon my chest. Then I remembered how years ago, before I met my husband of almost 46 years, I made some horrible decisions. Abortion was just becoming an acceptable answer to bury wrong choices. Many believed the lie. They never get buried unless Jesus Christ steps in and brings resurrection life to your dark soul. That is truth not a bandaid.

Although the remembrance brings me sorrow, it is soon turned to worship as I turn my thoughts to dwell on the awesome gift of God. To be forgiven for sins. To be set on a new path and transformed from that dark place. What a glorious celebration! Though tears stain my face, my eyes are on Jesus, the perfect Lamb of God. The One Who paid for my redemption. The cost He paid was so great! What Love!

The Love of God is so Great! If only we will believe it. If only we replace the lies we have believed that keep us shackled in an barren place. Jesus wants our faith to blossom! He wants us to see the Spring flowers pressing up from the dark soil of our winter like the first daffodils. To have hope for our future.

We can count on fresh life from Psalm 42:5..."Why are you in despair, O my soul? And why have you become disturbed within me? Hope in God, for I shall again praise Him for the help of His presence."

Colossians 3:3-4..."Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on the earth. For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God."

To dwell on past sins are satan's plans to disrobe us of the glory of God. To wither our faith and make us weak. The Lord gives us all we need to live by faith and not by sight! 2 Corinthians 5:7 tells us this. Paul even while in prison chose to believe God. He was a free man, even in his chains!

What chains keep you in the past? Would you like to be free and believe God has set His Love on you? I know I couldn't have survived without the Lord's embrace, like a canopy over me, His perfect love casts out fear and unbelief.

"Over and over, the Bible urges us to engage mind, will, and emotions in the pursuits of truths beyond our human senses. For when we choose to trust God above what we see or what we feel, we roll away the stone of unbelief and discover what real life can be. Because faith does more than release our imprisoned hearts. It releases God to work as well." From "Lazarus Awakening" by Joanna Weaver.

This month, this is the thing I desire to pursue. His Love. If you want to find fresh love and life you are invited to join me. WE will pursue the Love of God together. Set your hope in Jesus only. I want to know Him, intimately. Regardless of all His beautiful gifts and benefits...just to KNOW Him and the power of His resurrection! To see in the Spirit the wonders of His grace!

You are the apple of His eye! Psalm 17:8 says so. Only believe! Do not be afraid to let go. Trust the Lord with all your heart to bring to pass His will. Be in perfect peace. Now, know LOVE in the truest sense. There is no greater love than the Love that covers a multitude of sins (1 Peter 4:8). God bless you in the matchless name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Dear brothers and sisters,

Good day to you from my heart to yours. May the Lord bless you and keep you ever onward and upward in His calling on your life.

Are you ready to just turn off the noise? I sure am! Most of the noise is like a case of tinnitus, every ringing in my ears and interrupting the sweet voice of the Lord.

God's voice calms. Comforts. Convicts. Encourages. Enlightens. Leads. Reassures. Stills. Here again, I realize today that I made a choice as to whose voice I would listen to...before I ever lifted my head off the pillow.

Satan's voice vibrates with noise. Obesesses. Worries. Condemns. Discourages. Confuses. Pushes. Frightens and rushes. Not the perfect peace we search for is it?

I am thankful that someone composed this list for me to come across today. It only confirms what my heart is feeling. So, let's focus on the voice of God shall we?

The most practical, tactical way back to peace is by standing on the promises of God. We can do this because of Jesus. His life shows us in the Gospels how to deal with anything. Can you think of a for instance right now? I encourage you to pick one of the Gospels and read through this week.

We are given so many opportunities to have distractions take the place of spending time with God. I love to read books. I can read one in a couple of days, if I am focused. But, then my mind gets wrapped up and I become rung out. Sure the stories talk about God, even offer a happy endings, past the trials. But, what really have I gained?

Forgive me for going on and on about this but, if there is even one word on the list about satan's voice that is making you take a detour, take it to the Lord. He knows. He sees. We are being built up to be vessels of honor for God.

Now, I understand many of you have jobs to go to. You have families to provide and care for. Places to go and people to meet. These are important! However, your life will feel drained, wrung out like a dirty rag, and sluggish without the truth of the Word.

For strength to do all you have on your calendar take time. It might seem short, but we are forming a good habit of talking and listening to God's voice as He makes you into the person He designed you to be.

Maybe we should spend less time in front of the mirror and worrying about what to wear. Less time in front of the tv or news on the radio. That will all be there, I've found, after I take special time with the Lord. Well, I have been reading and writing out Psalm 91. The scripture that keeps coming to my mind is verses 14-15 which say,

"Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he knows and understands My name [has a personal knowledge of My mercy, love, and kindness---trusts and relies on Me, knowing I will never forsake him, no, never].

Verse 15 says, "He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him."

Do you love this? I think of God as my personal friend the more I spend time in His presence. Just knowing Jesus made this possible causes me to rejoice!

In a quiet place, you will seek Him and find Him. When you knock on the door, it will open for you. When you ask of Him, He will give it to you. Matthew 7:7. Only abide in Him and let His Word abide in you. Then, the enemy will have to leave because your thoughts are on Jesus.

It is all found in the words of the Lord. So simple yet we (I) forget. Just what satan ordered for me, to be a forgetful believer.

No more! I long to press in to know Him, do you? He has everything we need. Even when we go through trials, we need to trust He has a good plan in this. Whether at work or relaxing with our feet up, He does long to hear our voice too.

Have a blessed day and do ask the Holy Spirit to lead you into God's Love letter. Hide it in your heart. The place no one can snatch away. Bring all those other voices and set them before the Lord. Now you are free to hear God's voice! Amen!

Abundance is...Hearing His Voice

Dear family and friends, Do you feel beautiful today? I mean, how is your mindset? I'm not talking about that scary moment before your mirror in the morning with your hair flying and your sleep glazed eyes half open. Haha! I'm talking about the inside of you.

I suppose it is easier for me to talk to the ladies here. I woke with puffy eyes and that was after a good sleep last night. My head ached, likely a reaction to some food from the night before. I wanted to crawl back into bed. However, the scripture that came to my mind was from Psalm 19:14. This got me up and moving...thank you Holy Spirit!

"Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my [firm, impenetrable] Rock and my Redeemer."

Where the Holy Spirit took me from there, was away from my physical appearance to what was in my heart and mind. As my words were spoken about my puffy eyes and what on earth I was going to do with my wild hair...I remembered what I should be speaking.

I turned a negative attitude into worship. By giving thanks to God for another day, washing the sleep from my foggy mind, it was like the sun breaking through the clouds on a brisk winter morning. Like a fresh splash of cool water. Like, well, you know what I mean. You have your own list.

There really is something about the name of Jesus! There is power in the blood that cleanses us from the sin of comparison and discontent. His friendship goes with us all day long. He even helps with a bad hair day!

Instead of speaking of my inabilities, my weakness as I get older, my view in the mirror that shows all the wrinkles...I get to turn my eyes on the PRIZE, my HOPE and my STRENGTH. That is a very long list when you begin to speak it and meditate on all the goodness and mercies of the Lord.

His grace makes me beautiful in His eyes 24/7. I can never hide my disappointment, my circumstances, my visions of a different lot in life. I am really finding out that what I dwell on, I become like. I want to be like Jesus!

That is why I pray that the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart would be pleasing in God's sight. If you know Him, then you can trust Him with your future. That includes the headache days and the calm.

I was talking with my grandson this afternoon. He said people think he is too optimistic. I am glad he has that outlook! When I got home from our positive time together, my soul felt improved! Somehow refreshed. I can't wait to show him what I found. Return the blessing back to him!

So, I looked up the word optimism in my Thesaurus. It read...faith, expectation, anticipation, trust, expectance, confidence, hope. The (Ant.) despair, pessimism, despondency. Which are you?

Isn't that amazing?! The first word is faith and every word after we can find in scripture! I am abundantly blessed by my short time with my 18 year old grandson! The Holy Spirit is doing a wonderful work in his life and I am touched personally to such a point I can't express my gratitude!

WE get to be the blessing to cheer the heart of others God brings into our path. He makes those appointments doesn't He? Expectancy, anticipation!

I want to ask you then, what beauty radiates from you? Is it a heart that reveals a close walk with the Lord? A gentle and quiet spirit? Joyful expectation of the goodness of God that it just spills out on others?

That comes with speaking kindness to ourselves too. It comes with allowing Jesus to be our Rock at all times. Having a firm, intimate relationship with the Son of God. There are no comparisons when we stand before His throne. And, nothing to worry about!

You might be broken like a piece of pottery but, Jesus wants to touch you with beauty. In His hands we are made beautiful! Beginning now, speak the grace of the LORD over your mind. His Word. His unfailing love. Say it outloud! Those negative self-hate thoughts will bow down and the repetition of negative words will turn away in the matchless name of Jesus Christ, amen!

I am learning to think as HE thinks. The changes in my life have come because I have had to stop, drop and pray! It takes work but we are assured and know that God as our partner, is making things new and they fit into His plan on our behalf. Romans 8:28.

Never forget how much He loves you...yes, you! Even with all the cracks, torn and tangled threads. Let Jesus make you beautiful. Will you?

Abundance is...what is true
