Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Welcome to Heartstrings! Because of the nature of the world today, I am trying to pray God's Word more and more. Why? Because His Word does not return empty.

Colossians 3:16 says, "Let the word [spoken by] Christ (the Messiah) have its home [in your hearts and minds] and dwell in you in [all its] richness, as you teach and admonish and train one another in all insight and intelligence and wisdom [in spiritual things, and as you sing] psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, making melody to God with [His] grace in your hearts."

Not only do I want to invite Jesus into my home and heart but I want to make it my very breath. I am challenged by it. I am changed by it. So, I will pray His Word and see His hand at work in everything that pertains to me. Whether what is happening in our government or down to making a grocery list. My wisdom comes from God.

Do you want soul peace and harmony from Christ? Let Him rule and act as umpire in your prayer life too. And, be thankful, giving praise to God always!

This is where I began praying this morning. I will take it in three parts with you this week. It is Psalm 27:1-5. As I pray this Word I am going to find application throughout the days. Will you do this with me?

Beginning with verse one..."The Lord is my Light and my salvation---whom shall I fear or dread? The Lord is the Refuge and Stronghold of my life---of whom shall I be afraid?

When the wicked, even my enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.

Though a host encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war arise against me, [even then] in this will I be confident.

One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek, inquire for, and [insistently] require: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord [in His presence] all the days of my life, to behold and gaze upon the beauty [the sweet attractiveness and the delightful loveliness] of the Lord and to meditate, consider, and inquire in His temple.

For in the day of trouble He will hide me in His shelter; in the secret place of His tent will He hide me; He will set me high upon a rock."

I have read this scripture several times at various occasions but, it never fails my notice that it is always fresh and alive each time. I can think of other scriptures that follow this theme too. Can you?

Rest in Psalm 91:1-2 ..."He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no foe can withstand]. I will say of the Lord, He is my Refuge and my Fortress, my God; on Him I lean and rely, and in Him I [confidently] trust!"

Praise the Lord and this Living Word shown to us! If you are fortunate enough to hold a Bible of your own...there is nothing like it. His presence resonates with us every time doesn't it? I have many books but there is something very special about this one. God's Love letter to all.

Have a blessed evening. Until we meet again take the Word of God and make it your own prayer. God bless you in the matchless name of Jesus Christ, our soon coming King! Amen.

Abundance is...His Way becomes my way
