Dear brothers and sisters,

Good day to you from my heart to yours. May the Lord bless you and keep you ever onward and upward in His calling on your life.

Are you ready to just turn off the noise? I sure am! Most of the noise is like a case of tinnitus, every ringing in my ears and interrupting the sweet voice of the Lord.

God's voice calms. Comforts. Convicts. Encourages. Enlightens. Leads. Reassures. Stills. Here again, I realize today that I made a choice as to whose voice I would listen to...before I ever lifted my head off the pillow.

Satan's voice vibrates with noise. Obesesses. Worries. Condemns. Discourages. Confuses. Pushes. Frightens and rushes. Not the perfect peace we search for is it?

I am thankful that someone composed this list for me to come across today. It only confirms what my heart is feeling. So, let's focus on the voice of God shall we?

The most practical, tactical way back to peace is by standing on the promises of God. We can do this because of Jesus. His life shows us in the Gospels how to deal with anything. Can you think of a for instance right now? I encourage you to pick one of the Gospels and read through this week.

We are given so many opportunities to have distractions take the place of spending time with God. I love to read books. I can read one in a couple of days, if I am focused. But, then my mind gets wrapped up and I become rung out. Sure the stories talk about God, even offer a happy endings, past the trials. But, what really have I gained?

Forgive me for going on and on about this but, if there is even one word on the list about satan's voice that is making you take a detour, take it to the Lord. He knows. He sees. We are being built up to be vessels of honor for God.

Now, I understand many of you have jobs to go to. You have families to provide and care for. Places to go and people to meet. These are important! However, your life will feel drained, wrung out like a dirty rag, and sluggish without the truth of the Word.

For strength to do all you have on your calendar take time. It might seem short, but we are forming a good habit of talking and listening to God's voice as He makes you into the person He designed you to be.

Maybe we should spend less time in front of the mirror and worrying about what to wear. Less time in front of the tv or news on the radio. That will all be there, I've found, after I take special time with the Lord. Well, I have been reading and writing out Psalm 91. The scripture that keeps coming to my mind is verses 14-15 which say,

"Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he knows and understands My name [has a personal knowledge of My mercy, love, and kindness---trusts and relies on Me, knowing I will never forsake him, no, never].

Verse 15 says, "He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him."

Do you love this? I think of God as my personal friend the more I spend time in His presence. Just knowing Jesus made this possible causes me to rejoice!

In a quiet place, you will seek Him and find Him. When you knock on the door, it will open for you. When you ask of Him, He will give it to you. Matthew 7:7. Only abide in Him and let His Word abide in you. Then, the enemy will have to leave because your thoughts are on Jesus.

It is all found in the words of the Lord. So simple yet we (I) forget. Just what satan ordered for me, to be a forgetful believer.

No more! I long to press in to know Him, do you? He has everything we need. Even when we go through trials, we need to trust He has a good plan in this. Whether at work or relaxing with our feet up, He does long to hear our voice too.

Have a blessed day and do ask the Holy Spirit to lead you into God's Love letter. Hide it in your heart. The place no one can snatch away. Bring all those other voices and set them before the Lord. Now you are free to hear God's voice! Amen!

Abundance is...Hearing His Voice
