    Dear brothers and sisters,

Have you heard the Spirit calling you today? Maybe over some time now? This is the time to return to your rest and gain strength that has been lost. It is time to return to your first love relationship with Jesus.

I go through thinking all is well, until, I can't distinguish between physical weakness and spiritual weakness. I am looking at a couple of scriptures this morning that may help you as it helps me.

All of us need a reminder, a repentant heart, a return. Yesterday may have marked your life with pain or confussion and despair. Or, it may have been the best day in a long while. Whatever comes on this road we are traveling, we do need awareness and a sharpening to hear what God has to say to us.

Isaiah 30:15 tells us, "For thus said the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel; In returning [to Me] and resting [in Me] you shall be saved; in quietness and in [trusting] confidence shall be your strength. But you would not."

Oh, Lord may that never be said of me! That I would not...but continue to speed on in my own strength and using my own resources. Your word tells me that those who pursue me will take me down swiftly! I repent of using my own 'horses' to get me where I want to be. Forgive me Lord Jesus.

In verse 18 of this chapter I read, "And therefore the Lord [earnestly] waits [expecting, looking, and longing] to be gracious to you; and therefore He lifts Himself up, that He may have mercy on you and show loving-kindness to you. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) are all those who [earnestly] wait for Him, who expect and look and long for Him [for His victory, His favor, His love, His peace, His joy, and His matchless, unbroken companionship]!"

Then, I felt drawn to read the second chapter of Revelation. The church of Ephesus is the first of seven that the angel is talking to John about. It fits. Everything sounds good, at first and then the Light shines on their darkness. Look at verses 4-5 with me.

"But I have this [one charge to make] against you; that you have left (abandoned) the love that you had at first [you have deserted Me, your first love]. Remember then from what heights you have fallen. Repent (change the inner man to meet God's will) and do the works you did previously [when first you knew the Lord] or else I will visit you and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you change your mind and repent,"

Wow! This is heavy and brings tears to my eyes. Yet, I want to know the truth and be free, don't you? I know we get busy with the things around us. Our family, our job, even our place in serving the church. There is nothing wrong with these things as long as we remember Who gave us this family. Who gave us this job. Who placed us in ministry to serve others.

This is a good day to return to the love of Jesus. Quite trying so hard to do right. Be quiet and listen to His instructions. The Father knows best for our journey. Each day. Remember He longs to spend time with us.

If you need to repent of your waywardness and distraction, do that now. You are always welcome to come into His presence as His beloved. If you are here and don't know Jesus as your personal Savior. Talk to Him right now and submit to His authority over your life. He won't harm you but only has fresh life for you. Take the time. He will hear.

I hope this opens your eyes today. It has mine. After a few tears, my heart will return to the comfort of His peace. His Spirit will be singing over us! God bless you this day until we meet again. No more my way, but His way. Amen?

Abundance is...found in my First Love
