 Dear brothers and sisters,

Have you ever been wearied from too much information? Even listening to too many teachers in the Word. We sometimes need to just focus on the one thing the Holy Spirit is longing to convey to our heart. Today was such a day for me. Loaded down to the point of being burdened. But, Jesus tells us to hold fast in one thing. His words and not those of well-meaning people.

I hope that you understand I am writing Heartstrings as though writing my journal. You get to peek into my own life and the changes taking place. Hopefully, I am changing. I do know I can't do this in my own power.

John 8;31-32 says, "So Jesus said to those Jews who had believed in Him, If you abide in my Word [hold fast to My teachings and live in accordance with them], you are truly My disciples. And you will know the Truth, and the Truth will set you free."

Please don't follow my heart, but the heart of the Lord! In Him we have all the Truth we need for every issue that comes up and will know how to reply to any who ask "Why do you believe?" The Word of God stands before time began and will go on through eternity. Man's words will fade away.

In Isaiah 55:8-11 we read, "For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, says the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts."

I am so very thankful we serve a Mighty God and He is much smarter than me! What I think is important, I had better take before the Lord on every account, don't you think? Is there an area in your own life that the Spirit is calling you to? Don't ignore His voice!

"For as the rain and snow come down from the heavens, and return not there again, but water the earth and make it bring forth and sprout, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall My word be that goes forth out of My mouth; it shall not return to Me void [without producing any effect, useless], but it shall accomplish that which I please and purpose, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it."

Praise the Lord! That means that whenever we go into His presence and spend time reading our Bible; we have a certain word. Not a guess or the counsel of supposed wise men. For example, because we are getting snow, I anticipate new plants in the Spring time. We can also anticipate the work of God to grow us to become fruitful children. Simply by allowing His Word to abide in our hearts.

We believe. We can trust Him to do all He said He would do! I think the best thing for me is to settle back down into the Lord's care and forget the cares I have been heaping into my wagon. Get back to my rest. When the Lord spoke to my heart that He was going to do a new thing in me; well, this new thing is something I am trying to find and follow, adapt my life to. Refreshing and joy to follow now! First things first...listen to His heart.

Romans 8:28 is so familiar to many..."We are assured and know that [God being a partner in their labor] all things work together and are [fitting into a plan] for good to and for those who love God and are called according to [His] design and purpose."

Back up to 8:1 and find there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. We walk according to the Spirit and not to our flesh. Pause, breath, sigh relief. All the things I have been trying to accomplish (for God) are not what I am supposed to be doing. Doing this and that may look saintly, but it will only dray my spirit down in the accomplishing. The same will come for you too unless you are not following the heart and desire of Jesus. Praise the Lord there is a better way and Father knows best!

What season of change are you in today? We need to be careful and only do what He is telling us. We can only hear this when we come humbly before His throne. So back to the basics for me! One step at a time in the right direction is better than skipping along and passing up the precious stones that really go in our wagon. There are many things we could add but only what He has ordered are the right ones.

Well, I hope you were able to follow along with me. The main this is to keep what the Lord desires as your main thing and not try to follow in the steps of others counsel and pattern of living. Okay? Thank you for allowing me your time. You are wonderful and I pray the Lord rains down many blessings in your life as you place your heart in His hands. God bless you in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Abundance is...times of refreshing
